This is a very unique and delicious snack recipe that is made with macaroni pasta. It is very crispy, crunchy and taste delicious with a cup of tea and tastes like kurkure.

This is a perfect party snack, if you do not have anything in your home. Homemade crispy pastas are such a great finger snack that you can't stop eating after putting one in your mouth. Try this crispy kurkure macaroni while watching movies with your family. It takes just few minutes to prepare  with less ingredients. Though these macaroni snacks are deep fried but they absorb very less oil, so you can eat as much as you want.

Make this crunchy snack in a large quantity and store in an airtight container for weeks because this snack doesn't go bad and it can be stored for 3 weeks. RECIPE FOR CRISPY MACARONI

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup macaroni
  • 3 cup water
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 3 tbsp corn flour
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp chaat masala powder
  • 1 tsp kasoori methi - crushed - optional
  • salt - to taste
  • oil - for deep fry

PROCEDURE

  • in a large sauce pot, add water, pinch of salt and oil
  • bring water to get a rolling boil 
  • once the water boils, add macaroni pasta and boil for 10-15 minutes or check the package instructions to know the cooking time
  • once macaroni cooked thoroughly, switch off the flame and strain the excess water 
  • then, wash the macaroni in cold running water to prevent from overcooking
  • now transfer the boiled pasta in to a large bowl and add a tbsp of all purpose flour and corn flour
  • toss well for few minutes and then dust off the excess flour
  • heat oil in a wok and gently drop the cooked macaroni and deep fry in low medium flame until it turns golden brown, this process take atleast 15 minutes to get a nice crunchy texture
  • once the pasta turns golden brown, remove from oil and drain the excess oil on kitchen towel
  • in the meanwhile, in the small mixing bowl, mix red chilli powder, cumin powder, chaat masala powder, salt and crushed kasoori methi, masala mix is ready
  • now add this masala mix in to the fried macaroni and mix well
  • make sure all the spices are well coated with the pasta
  • serve immediately with a cup of tea or coffee
  • Enjoy!
NOTES
  • do not overcook the pasta orelse the it will turn mushy and it will not hold the shape properly
  • adjust the spice flavors according to your taste
  • keep fry in low medium flame until you get the nice crunchy texture

CRUNCHY MACARONI WITH STEP BY STEP PHOTO RECIPE

in a sauce pan, add water, salt and a tsp of oil


bring water to boil


take 1 cup macaroni


add macaroni in to the boiling water


cook the pasta according to the package instructions


pasta cooked well


strain the excess water and wash the pasta in running cold water


macaroni pasta is ready


add all purpose flour and corn flour


mix well and allow to coat on all sides of the pasta


drop the cooked pasta gently in hot oil


fry in low medium flame


fry until golden brown


remove from fried pasta from oil and drain the excess oil 
on paper towel


then, transfer into mixing bowl


in small mixing bowl, mix red chilli powder, cumin powder, salt, chaat masala powder and kasoori methi


add the masala mix into the fried pasta


mix well and allow the spices to coat on all sides of the pasta


serve with a cup of tea or coffee
