The best sauteed spinach in less than 10 minutes you can transform a bunch of spinach into wilted, garlicky, tangy and flavorful leaves. It makes the perfect side dish for rice and chapathi.

Sauteed spinach is easy to make and of-course highly nutrient packed! You can use sesame oil or olive oil, brown the garlic and then add baby spinach leaves, salt and pepper. Just cook the leaves until all get wilted and finally drizzle with lemon juice and serve hot.

Spinach is a leafy green vegetable that belongs to the amaranth family. It is considered very healthy and its loaded with lots of nutrients and antioxidants. Eating spinach everyday may benefit eye health, reduce oxidative stress, reduce blood pressure levels and helps to prevent cancer.

Spinach is an extremely nutrient rich leaf. It packs with high amounts of carotenoids, vitamin C, vitamin K, folic acid, iron and calcium. This recipe is perfect for lunch boxes and its a great choice for fussy kids who don't eat green leaves.

RECIPE FOR GARLIC SAUTEED SPINACH

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tsp sesame oil / olive oil
  • 2 tbsp garlic - chopped
  • 3 cup baby spinach leaves
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp ground pepper
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

PROCEDURE

  • clean the spinach leaves well in running water and remove the stalks and discard it
  • heat oil in the pan
  • add chopped garlic and saute for 1 minute or until its browned
  • add all the baby spinach leaves, salt and pepper powder
  • mix well
  • cover with lid and cook in medium flame for 1 minute
  • after 1 minute, open the lid and cook on high flame for another 1-2 minute and cook the spinach leaves until all the spinach is wilted
  • just drizzle with lemon juice and mix well and then switch off the flame
  • serve hot

NOTES
  • adjust lemon juice according to your taste
  • try to use baby spinach leaves for better taste
  • you can also use leaves with stalk

clean spinach leaves in fresh running water and remove the stalks


heat oil in the pan, add chopped garlic


saute for few minute until browned


add baby spinach leaves, salt and ground pepper


mix well, cover with lid and cook for 1-2 minutes


open the lid and starts to cook on high flame


stir occasionally and cook for another 2 minutes


spinach is ready and drizzle with lemon juice and 
then switch off the flame


serve with rice or chapathi
