RECIPE FOR SPINACH SOUP RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 – 2.5 cup spinach (palak) leaves –  chopped
  • 1/4 cup onion – roughly chopped
  • 5 garlic
  • 1 cup water to cook spinach leaves
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 tsp salt or as needed
  • 1 tsp black pepper powder or as needed
  • 1 tsp corn flour + 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp fresh cream (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp cumin powder
  • 2 bread slices 

PROCEDURE

  • wash the spinach leaves in water
  • chop the spinach leaves and keep it aside
  • boil 1 cup water in a sauce pan
  • add chopped spinach leaves, chopped onion and garlic
  • bring the mixture to boil for 5 minutes
  • switch off the flame and cool the mixture completely
  • transfer into mixer grinder along with water
  • grind to a smooth paste or puree
  • heat butter in a sauce pot
  • add bay leaf and saute for few seconds
  • add spinach puree
  • add salt and pepper powder
  • mix well and cook for 3-4 minutes
  • in the meanwhile, mix corn flour and 2 tbsp water
  • in mixing bowl, add corn flour mix, fresh cream and cumin powder
  • stir well and cook for 1-2 minute or until it starts to thicken
  • transfer the hot spinach soup in to serving bowl
  • toast bread on both the sides and cut into cubes
  • add toasted bread cubes into the hot soup
  • tasty and healthy spinach soup ready
  • enjoy with your kids and family



Spinach Soup with Step-By-Step Photo Recipe

wash the spinach leaves in water

chop the spinach leaves, onion and garlic

boil 1 cup water in a sauce pot

add chopped onion, garlic and chopped spinach leaves

cook for 5 minutes

switch off the flame

cool down completely

grind to a smooth paste / puree

heat butter in a sauce pot

add bay leaf and saute for few seconds

add grinded spinach puree

add salt

add pepper powder

mix well and boil for 3-4 minutes

in a mixing bowl, add corn flour

add 2 tbsp water and mix well

add in to boiling soup

add fresh cream

add cumin powder

cook for 1-2 minute or until it starts to thicken

toast bread cubes

spinach soup ready and garnish with toasted bread cubes
