Green chutney is versatile and most commonly used in Indian chaats, sandwiches, burgers, etc., This is a authentic green chutney recipe, it is very easy to make and made with easily available ingredients like coriander leaves, mint leaves, garlic, ginger, green chilli, cumin seeds, fried gram dal, salt and lemon juice.

Here the ingredients are used in its raw state to retain its nutrient values. Green chutney is so tasty and aromatic. Coriander leaves are cholesterol free and rich in antioxidants, vitamins and dietary fibre which helps in lowering bad cholesterol and increasing good cholesterol levels. It also acts as a natural antiseptic and anti-fungal agent in the treatment of skin disorders like eczema.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup coriander leaves
  • 1/2 cup mint leaves
  • 1 tbsp fried gram dal
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 green chilli
  • 1 garlic
  • 1/4 inch ginger
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • salt to taste

PROCEDURE

  • add coriander leaves, mint leaves, fried gram dal, cumin seeds, green chili, garlic, ginger, salt and lemon juice into the mixer grinder
  • add 1 tbsp of water and grind to a smooth paste
  • green chutney is ready
  • store this green chutney in a clean dry airtight glass jar
  • store in refrigerator for 1 week
  • enjoy this green chutney with chaats, sandwiches and burgers
NOTES

  1. adjust spice level according to your taste
  2. adjust the amount of water based on the consistency you are looking for
  3. store this green chutney in freezer, stays good for 1 month
