This chutney is prepared using ingredients like shallots, coconut, garlic, red chillies, coriander leaves, tamarind, garlic and salt. It is an excellent sources of antioxidant-rich herb. This coriander chutney recipe is easy to make and can be prepared under 15 minutes.

RECIPE FOR CORIANDER CHUTNEY

INGREDIENTS

For Chutney

  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 5 shallots
  • 2 garlic
  • 1 spring curry leaves
  • 5 red chilli
  • 2 cup coriander leaves
  • 1/4 cup grated coconut
  • 1 tsp tamarind
  • salt to taste
  • enough water to grind
For Seasoning
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp urad dal
  • 7 curry leaves

PROCEDURE

  • add a tbsp of oil in the pan
  • add shallots and garlic
  • saute for few minutes until transparent
  • add red chillies and curry leaves
  • saute for few seconds
  • add coriander leaves and saute for 30
  • switch off the flame
  • add tamarind and grated coconut
  • saute in the pan heat itself
  • cool down the mixture completely
  • transfer into mixer grinder
  • add salt and water and then grind to a smooth paste
  • transfer the coriander chutney into a bowl
  • for seasoning, heat a tsp of oil in a pan
  • temper with mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves
  • saute for few seconds
  • pour the seasoning over the chutney
  • mix well
  • serve with idli, dosa, uthappam and upma
  • taste delicious 😋 

NOTES

  1. this chutney can be done without coconut
  2. red chillies can be replaced with green chillies
  3. if you don't have shallots replace with regular onions

heat oil in a pan, add shallots and garlic


saute well until transparent


add red chillies and curry leaves, saute for few seconds


add coriander leaves


saute for 30 seconds, then switch off the flame


add tamarind and grated coconut


saute well in the pan heat itself, cool down the mixture


transfer into mixer grinder


add salt and water, grind to a smooth paste


transfer the coriander chutney into a bowl


heat a tsp of oil, temper with mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves


pour the seasoning over the chutney
