Karachi Biscuit also known as Eggless Tutti Frutti Biscuit. The biscuits are stuffed with lots of tutti frutti (candied dried papaya) usually served with a cup of tea or coffee. 

Karachi biscuits are originated from Karachi Bakery, Hyderabad, India. This biscuit is flavored with pineapple essence, cardamom powder and custard powder. 

The outer layer of cookies just gets crunchier and so flavorful. These are very delicious, lip smacking and all time favorite snack throughout India. Tutti Frutti Cookies are very easy to make at home under 20 minutes. This snack is great for kids birthday parties, evening snack, special occasions, pot lucks or any get-together. This is one of the easiest cookie  recipe which is very delightful, addictive and perfect for festive season like Christmas and Diwali.

INGREDIENTS

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter - room temperature
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp pineapple essence or rose essence
  • 1.5 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup custard powder
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 cup tutti frutti

PROCEDURE

  • using the paddle attachment of your stand mixer or using your hand mixer, beat unsalted butter, powdered sugar and pineapple essence till smooth and creamy 
  • in another mixing bowl, add all purpose flour, custard powder, salt and cardamom powder
  • mix well
  • add the flour mix into the creamy buttered bowl and mix well
  • now add tutti frutti in to the bowl
  • mix everything altogether until it forms like a dough
  • divide the dough into 2-3 equal parts and make a log out of it using cling wrap and then refrigerate for 2 hours
  • after 2 hours, take out the dough log out and remove the cling wrap and with the help of sharp knife cut the dough into round shaped cookies around 1/4 inch thickness
  • line a parchment paper on the baking tray
  • place the prepared cookies on the tray
  • pre heat oven at 350 degree F and bake for 15 min
  • once the cookies baked thoroughly, remove from the oven and cool down completely on the cooling rack
  • serve karachi biscuits with a cup of tea or coffee
  • Enjoy!
NOTES
  • also you can add chopped cashews
  • if you don’t  have pineapple essence replace with rose essence 
  • store the cookies in an air tight container up to 3 weeks

Eggless Tutti Frutti Cookies With Step By

in the stand mixer bowl, add unsalted butter, powdered sugar and pineapple essence


use the paddle attachment


beat well until it forms smooth and creamy texture


in another mixing bowl, add all purpose flour, custard powder, salt and cardamom powder


mix well


add the flour mix in to the butter bowl


mix well


add tutti frutti


mix altogether and forms like a dough


take a small portion of the dough and place it on the cling wrap


make a firm log and place it in the refrigerator for 2 hours


take the chilled dough log out and remove the wrap


using the sharp knife and cut in to round shaped cookies around 1/4 inch thickness


place the cookies on the baking tray lined with parchment paper


pre heat oven at 350 F and bake for 15 minutes


cookies ready

cool down completely and serve with a cup of tea or coffee
