Soya chunks or meal maker or soy meat or soy protein or soy nuggets is a defatted soy flour product, a by-product of extracting soybean oil. It is often used as a meat analogue or meat extender. It is quick to cook, with a protein content comparable to certain meats. 
Soybeans are a high source of proteins and polyunsaturated fats and also are the only legumes that provide ample amount of omega-3 fatty acid.

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 cup soya chunks / meal maker
  • water as needed

PROCEDURE
  • bring water to boil in a wide pan
  • add soya chunks in to boiling water
  • cook until soya chunks double in size (it takes 5 minutes)
  • switch off the flame
  • drain the water completely
  • wash the soya chunks in cold water for 2-3 times
  • take the soya chunk and squeeze out the water completely in your hands
  • ready to use
  • you can use the soya chunks in your recipe as whole soya chunk or cut the soya chunk or minced in gravies, biryani, cutlet and manchurian.


HOW TO COOK SOYA CHUNKS OR MEAL MAKER WITH STEP-BY-STEP PHOTO RECIPE


take 1 cup soya chunks / meal maker


bring water to boil in a wide pan


add soya chunks


cook until soya chunks double in size (it takes 5 minutes)


switch off the flame and drain the water completely


wash the soya chunks in cold water for 2-3 times


washed well


take the washed soya chunk


squeeze out the excess water in your hands


perfect cooked soya chunks


soya chunks are ready to use


 use the soya chunks in your recipe as whole soya chunk or cut the soya chunk or minced in gravies, biryani, cutlet and manchurian.
