Mango Shrikhand Recipe | Creamy Mango Yogurt Dessert | Startup Cooking

mango shrikhand

Mango Shrikhand, is popularly known as Amrakhand. It is a delicious fruity flavor to the traditional plain Shrikhand recipe. It is made using 5 important ingredients like plain yogurt, mango puree, powdered sugar, cardamom and saffron strands. This shrikhand is silky smooth and creamy in texture and it tastes sweet and slightly tangy. It is usually garnish with some nuts and dried rose petals.

Mostly shrikhand is eaten with poori (Indian fried bread) and also it can be eaten as a dessert or as a part of Indian thali.

What is Shrikhand ?

Shrikhand is a thick creamy and delicious Indian dessert made with strained yogurt, powdered sugar, cardamom powder, saffron strands and nuts. Some people will call this as sweetened yogurt, but this is much more flavor than that.

Shrikhand is very good for health. Shrikhand is a rich source of calcium, phosphorus, vitamins B1, B2 and B12. It is an easy and quick sweet recipe that is suitable to have on a fasting day.

Mango Shrikhand is one of my favorite summer desserts to make when mangoes are in season. This is an irresistible desert! and my son loves a lot during his summer vacation.

You can store shrikhand in a tight covered box for a week in the refrigerator. Enjoy this nutritious and delicious treat for your taste buds and it is one of the simple recipes that you can make for your loved ones anytime.
