pineapple sheera

Sheera is an Indian dessert similar to pudding. It is usually prepared with sooji, ghee and sugar. It's a very simple dessert but delicious in taste.
Pineapple sheera is just a twist to the regular version adding a cup of pineapple chunks, you may use pineapple puree also. Pineapple sheera is very popular dessert in South India in the name of Pineapple Kesari, usually made on auspicious occasions and festivals. This mouth watering dessert is cooked with pineapple, rava, water, saffron, ghee, cashews and cardamom powder. This recipe is easy to prepare and made under 30 minutes.

Some people, milk is used instead of water to cook sheera for rich flavor, but there are chances for milk to curdle due to the sourness of pineapple. I recommend to use the water to cook pineapple.

Pineapple sheera also called as pineapple halwa in Maharashtra,  pineapple kesari in Tamil Nadu, pineapple kesari bath in Karnataka. For better results, I highly recommend to use the fresh pineapple for this recipe, you can add pineapple chunks or pineapple puree and add a pinch of saffron for natural kesar color. Do not add food color.
