Chilli Idli

Chilli Idli is an Indo-Chinese fusion recipe, made with leftover idlis, capsicum, onion and green chillies. Chilli Idli also called as Idli manchurian is very delicious, full of flavor, very easy to make and a quick recipe. It can be served as morning breakfast or a evening snack. This is truly vegan, gluten free and a perfect for after school snack.

Chilli Idli is mildly spiced from the sauces and the green chilli. Adjust spice level according to your taste. In the traditional recipe, idlis are deep fried, here I shallow fried the idli and then tossed in the sauces. Always serve chilli idli hot or else it may turn soggy.

Chilli Idli

Idli is a traditional South Indian Breakfast made from rice and Urad Dal. This recipe can be made either from fresh idlis or leftover idlis. Fresh idlis absorb more oil than the refrigerated idlis. Leftover idlis that have been refrigerated work better as they tend to hold their shape better when frying.
