This is one of the easiest breakfast in the busy morning hours. This poha idlis are bland in taste and it goes well with tomato chutney or idli podi. RECIPE FOR INSTANT POHA IDLI

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup poha | Aval | flattened rice
  • 2 cup sour curd / yogurt
  • 1 1/2 cup idli rava | rice rava
  • salt to taste
  • pinch of baking soda
  • water as needed
  • oil to grease idli mould

PROCEDURE

  • take 1 cup poha in a bowl
  • wash well and drain the water
  • add sour curd / yogurt
  • mix well
  • soak for 15 minutes
  • mash well with spoon
  • add rice rava / idli rava
  • mix well
  • allow to rest for 15 minutes and now idli rava has absorbed most of the water content
  • add required amount of water to get idli batter consistency
  • mix well
  • add salt and pinch of baking soda
  • mix well
  • grease idli plate with oil
  • pour the batter in each mould
  • steam for 10-12 minutes
  • serve hot with tomato chutney or idli podi

Notes: If you want, you can grind idli rava in to fine powder using mixer grinder.

Instant Poha Idli with Step-By-Step Photo Recipe

take 1 cup poha in a bowl

wash well and drain the water

add sour curd/yogurt

mix well and soak for 15 minutes

mash well with spoon

add rice rava / idli rava

mix well and allow to rest for 15 minutes. 

now idli rava has absorbed most of the water content

add enough water to get idli batter consistency

mix well

add salt

add pinch of baking soda

mix well

pour the batter into greased idli mould

steam for 10-12 minutes
