This is a classic white bread recipe, and so easy! with a very light center and with crunchy crust. This easy white bread is made from scratch using only a few baking ingredients. This homemade bread is easier than you think. There’s nothing better than the smell of bread baking in your oven.  This bread recipe is perfect for sandwiches, toast or simply with butter and jam. Baking truly is one of my passions, more so than cooking, believe it or not, this is my first bread recipe in my blog. Here I used two loaf pan, if you have bigger pan better use it for one loaf. RECIPE FOR WHITE BREAD

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 package active dry yeast (I used Red Star Brand)
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 3.5 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter – room temperature
  • 2 tbsp all purpose flour- for dusting
  • 2 tbsp butter for grease the bowl

PROCEDURE

  • take yeast in a measuring jar
  • add 1/4 cup warm water
  • add sugar
  • stir well
  • set aside for 5 minutes or until it foams up
  • take all purpose flour in a mixing bowl
  • add salt
  • mix well
  • add yeast mixture
  • add 1 cup warm water
  • knead well until it forms like a dough
  • add unsalted butter and knead for another 5 minutes
  • transfer the dough in a large bowl, the bowl should be slightly buttered
  • cover the bowl tightly with a plastic wrap or with damp cloth
  • place the bowl in a warm place until doubled in volume, about 1 hour
  • punch well to release the excess air
  • add some all purpose flour and knead well, until it forms a soft and smooth dough
  • divide the dough into two portions and form into loaves
  • place the loaves into two lightly greased loaf pan or bread pan
  • cover with plastic wrap or damp cloth
  • place the pan in a warm place until it rise in volume, about 30-40 minutes
  • preheat oven at 375 degree F
  • bake for 30 minutes or until the top is slight brown
  • cool down completely
  • slice and serve
  • Enjoy ! with jam

WHITE BREAD WITH STEP-BY-STEP PHOTO RECIPE

take 1 measuring jar

add yeast

add 1/4 cup warm water

I used active dry yeast, red star brand

add 1 tbsp sugar

stir well

wait for 5 minutes

foam rises up

yeast mixture ready

take all purpose flour in a mixing bowl

add salt

mix well

add yeast mixture

add 1 cup warm water

mix well

knead well and make like a dough

add unsalted butter and knead well

dough is ready

take another large bowl and grease with butter or oil

place the dough in a bowl

cover with a plastic wrap or damp cloth, place the bowl in warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in volume

dough doubled in volume

remove the plastic wrap

punch well and release the excess air

add some all purpose flour for dusting

knead well and make a soft and smooth dough

divide the dough into two portions of loaves

place the loaves into two lightly greased loaf pan or bread pan

place the pan in a warm place until it rise in volume, about 30-40 minutes

dough rise in volume

preheat oven at 375 degree F and bake for 30 minutes or until the top is slight brown

cool down completely

store this bread for a week in the refrigerator or finish it in 3-4 days
