sago upma

Javvarisi Upma is a quick, healthy and delicious breakfast option made from sago pearls. This is one of the easiest and tasty breakfast in the busy morning hours. This can be eaten as plain or with coconut chutney, tomato chutney or with a cup of tea or coffee. This upma takes just 20 minutes to prepare,  you can also add your favorite veggies and nuts to make even more healthier.

Javvarisi (sago) is mostly used for fasting, a larger population is still unaware of what sago is and how it is made. It is full of starch and contains carbohydrates. It is collected from the spongy centre of tropical palm trees. The tapioca plant's root is used to extract the starch; then, the starch is transformed into small, pearl-like spheres. This is how sago is made. Sago provides ample energy, it is gluten free and non-allergic, also it helps to prevent digestion issues.

This sago upma will be a great option for lunch box for kids and also you can had for an after school snack. Follow my step by step photo recipe to prepare Javvarisi Upma. If you like this recipe share it, tweet it and pin it. Please do try and post your comments.
