RECIPE FOR KERALA FRIED PRAWN 🍤

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pound prawn 🍤  (remove head and tail, de-vein)
  • 3 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp pepper powder
  • 1 stalk curry leaves (chopped)
  • 3 tsp lemon juice
  • salt as needed
  • 2 tbsp oil for shallow fry

PROCEDURE

  • Remove head and tail, clean the prawn, de-vein and wash thrice with running water, clean with turmeric powder and again clean with running water twice.
  • In a mixing bowl, add ginger garlic paste, cumin powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, pepper powder, lemon juice and salt.
  • mix well
  • add prawn 
  • marinate the prawns by rubbing all ingredients
  • refrigerate for 30 minutes
  • heat cast iron pan
  • add oil
  • add marinated prawn
  • shallow fry 
  • cover and cook on medium flame for 5 minutes
  • flip over and shallow fry on the other side
  • cook until golden brown on the both sides
  • serve this delicious kerala fried prawn with slice of lemon and onion ring.
