Badam milk is milk flavored with almonds and the other flavorings like saffron and cardamom powder can be added to it to enhance the flavour. It is a very healthy drink substitute from regular milk. Badam milk drinks on regular basis helps to build immunity, stronger bones and helps in overall development of the body. Badam milk is very easy to prepare and taste delicious. RECIPE FOR ALMOND FLAVORED MILK

INGREDIENTS
  • 15 almonds
  • 1/2 cup hot water for soaking
  • 21/2 cup milk - splitted
  • 3 tbsp sugar (or as needed)
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • pinch of saffron strands

PROCEDURE
  • soak saffron strands in 1 tsp of warm milk
  • soak almonds in hot water for 1 hour
  • drain the water 
  • remove the skin from almond. (its very easy)
  • in a mixer grinder, add skin removed almonds
  • grind to a smooth paste by adding a tbsp of milk
  • in a sauce pan, add remaining milk and ground paste
  • mix well
  • add sugar and soaked saffron strands along with milk
  • mix well
  • cook on low flame in the beginning
  • stir at regular intervals so that the almond does not stick to the bottom
  • boil in medium flame for 2-3 minutes
  • add cardamom powder and mix well, cook for 1 minute
  • switch off the flame
  • strain the milk through a strainer into a serving glass
  • garnish with saffron strands
  • serve hot or cold
  • if you need, serve immediately
  • if you need cold, refrigerate and enjoy!

Almond Flavored Milk with Step-By-Step Photo Recipe


soak almonds in hot water for 1 hour

almonds doubled in size


peel the skin and discard it



soak saffron strands in a tbsp of warm milk


in a mixer grinder, add skin removed almonds


grind to a coarse powder 

add a tbsp of milk


grind to a smooth paste


add remaining milk in the sauce pan


add ground paste

mix well


add sugar


add soaked saffron along with milk


mix well


boil for 2-3 minutes and stir at regular intervals


add cardamom powder


cook for 1 minute


strain the milk through a strainer into a serving glass


serve hot
