HISTORY OF THE MANTRA
This mantra was composed by the divine spiritual guru Dayaananda Saraswati. The mantra marks the beginning of the longer Shiv Shambho mantra, in praise of Lord Shiva's magnificent being. PALLAVI
O (bho) Parameswara (shambho), you are the auspicious (shiva) Lord (shambho) born by yourself (swayambho - without parents)
ANUPALLAVI
Hey merciful (Karunaakara) Shankara, you carry the Ganga (gangaadhara) on your head, you are the one who saves (taaraka) us (maamava) from this sea (saagara) of worldly (brava) ordeals.
CHARANAM
You are the embodiment (swaroopa) of God (parabrahma) without bonds (nirguna). You make us free from all (rahitha - He who bestows liberation from all bonds) that is happening (gama), will happen (agama), and has happened (bhoota) in this world (prapancha).
